Gear Advice: Socks (Liner)

If you are using a traditional wool sock, a liner sock is required. Typically these are rather thin and soft, and will stop the foot from rubbing on the rough wool, which will cause blisters. Silk is the preferred material for a good liner sock, but there are some good synthetic versions as well.

I don't use a liner sock since I use SmartWool heavy socks.
